Is the treatment painful?

During the first 2 days after the treatment, the skin may be red and sensitive- this is a very normal reaction. You may also observe a feeling of warmth and tightness. To reduce the skin discomfort sensation, you may increase the frequency of moisturiser cream application and we always recommend taking an increased dose of DMK EFA Ultra supplements to support the skins hydration and healing process. 

 

What are the treatment contraindications and side-effects?

    The adverse effects are usually foreseeable, moderate and temporary. These usually involve shedding of the skin for approximately 7-10 days, redness, tenderness, post-treatment discolourations in case of patients who do not observe the sun protection rules. The best way to know which treatment will be the best for you is to book in for a general skin consultation with our specialist, and they can create a customised treatment plan for your skin.

     

    What is the Cosmelan program process?

    Pre-treatment consultation:
    This is a must to ensure your suitability for the treatment. Your skin specialist will run you through what to expect and answer any questions you may have. We will create a personalised skin preparation plan for you to ensure you get the best results from the treatment. A deposit is required at the time of your consultation to secure your Cosmelan pack if you wish to book the treatment. 
    Professional Treatment in clinic:
    At your treatment, a thick mask of Cosmelan 1 will be very neatly applied to the skin and this is to be worn for 8-12 hours, depending on your skin type. At this appointment, you will be given all your Mesoestetic skincare which you are to use over the coming months. You will be advised on how to use them and provided aftercare notes. Over the next couple of days, you can expect the skin to look very flushed and feel a sunburnt sensation. Approximately 2-3 days following your treatment, you can expect the peeling to begin, and this can last up to 7 days post-treatment.
    Follow-up Consultation and Complimentary LED Healite Therapy treatment: Approximately 7-10 days after your second and last Cosmelan treatment, we invite you to come in for a follow-up appointment to track the progression of your skin, fine-tune your home care routine if necessary and you can enjoy a Healite LED Therapy treatment with compliments.
